My family, like many around the world have lost a loved one to armed conflict. Poppies are widely used as emblems of remembrance and to pay respect to those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. In maritime history, the dory represents resilience, grit and survival and the combination of the two pays respect to all those that allow me to have the freedoms I enjoy.
