The painting illustrates that while we cannot stop the rain of life, we can choose who we stand under the umbrella with. My intend with this painting was to convey romance, intimacy, and resilience. Even though the environment looks rainy and cold, the couple’s closeness and the warm yellow umbrella create a feeling that love provides shelter in difficult times.
