Chasing the Moon – Fine Art Print

Chasing the Moon captures the dramatic beauty of a Newfoundland landscape beneath a powerful, ever-changing sky. A warm yellow building sits quietly among lush green fields, its simple architecture reflecting the character and heritage of rural coastal communities. Beside the road, utility poles and overhead wires trace the landscape, adding a familiar touch of everyday Newfoundland life.

The true centrepiece is the magnificent sky, where deep navy and charcoal clouds sweep across the horizon, giving way to layers of brilliant white, silver, and blue. Through a break in the clouds, a soft golden light emerges, illuminating the landscape below and creating a striking contrast between the stormy atmosphere and the warmth of the buildings. The title Chasing the Moon evokes the fleeting beauty of light in a restless sky and the feeling of searching for something just beyond reach.

Through expressive brushwork, rich colours, and dramatic contrasts, this painting celebrates the untamed character of Newfoundland weather and the quiet magic found in ordinary places. It invites viewers to pause, look upward, and appreciate those brief moments when nature transforms a familiar landscape into something extraordinary.
