Crow Head Copper Original

$675.00

The Sleepy Cove Copper Mine at Crow Head, near Twillingate, Newfoundland operated in the early 1900’s. High grade copper was discovered in 1902 and the mine was operational for 10+ years, closing in 1920 because of falling prices. Thanks to Dave Clarke for the colorized reference photo. The original black & white is from a collection held at the Twillingate library. While the mine is no longer in operation and most of its infrastructure is no longer there, it remains an historic landmark to the local area.
